Social Media And Its Importance

Social media — websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking (definition of social media). Nowadays, more and more people are using social media as an effective tool to reach out what they want, it’s a way to listening, interacting, offering, watching, tell and build relationships. I believed that most of us are owning one social media account or even more, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, these are among the most active social media platforms.

This below graph provides information on the most popular networks worldwide as of January 2016, and it also shows that the vast numbers of people are using social media platforms.

In today’s business world, companies using social media marketing widely. According to Hubspot, 92% of marketers in 2014 admit that social media marketing was necessary for their business, with 80% increased traffics to their websites(“Marketing Statistics, Trends & Data – The Ultimate List of Marketing Stats,” n.d.). So, why we use social media marketing? And what is the benefits and importance of social media? I have come out with few reasons to explain it .

  • Save time and money

Manage your social media account, running a social networking is as cheap as you thought. If you want to hire online PR agency, the price is around $3000-7000 per month, and it’s high cost especially for small business. Successful social media management can capture audiences attentions because the dissemination of information is very fast in today’s social network. Those who are interested in your brand, they will share or spread the messages. But be careful, you need to posting content or messages on social networking sites correctly. Otherwise, it can seriously affect your digital PR presence.

  • Get your target market

keep interactions with your consumers on social media and know what they want, so you can see their posts and updates which can reflect their lives, in order to adjust your marketing strategy.

  • Increase brand awareness

If you want to improve your brand awareness to the public, it is imperative that gather all essence of brand contents and posted on social media. Your social media is a new channel for your brand to promo. It’s important because it makes you easier to reach your target consumer, and makes the brand more familiar and recognizable for existing customers, even can reach potential consumers.

  • New consumer experience

Every consumer interaction with the brand on social media is a chance  to show your service level to public and build up the relationship with audiences. For example, if a customer complains about your product on Facebook, you can respond quickly: writing the comment, apologize to the public and consumer. It’s a personal experience that lets consumers know you care about them.

Every post that updated on social media, it could be an opportunity for a consumer to convert. One following  could makes your brand have chances to approach new customers and existing customers. At the same time, you’ll be able to communicate with all of them. Each post, image, video, or comment you share is a chance for someone to react, and every reaction could lead to a site visit, and even a consumer demand investigate. Every positive interaction increases the possibility of getting the new idea for your business.
